Consistent game CTD

Post by Shadrach »

Hi,
I really do love the game so far, but I am getting mightily annoyed at frequent game crashes in several games I've had, included forgetting to turn autosave on... [:@] [:(]

I have managed to recreate a situation that crashes every time on my PC, attaching the save game.
It crashes immediately once time is unpaused.

It seems to be related to setting timed attach orders, as that was what I did before the crash for several units, setting attack at 0630, and auto attack off.

Unable to find a log anywhere in the BFTB directory - not sure if there is any? And and I can't seem to be able to copy the data from the windows crash report.

Here are the info I got from another crash (another game) hope at least it helps for my specs:

OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 2836 MHz with 2047MB RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 (9745)

Thanks for any help to solve this [&o]

Sorry to bump this, but has anyone had a chance to verify this crash?

The game is quite unplayable for me now with these crashes in every scenario... [:(]

Only crash I've had so far was when generating the after-action victory screen. As I had won, I was peeved!

Hi,

If you have a saved game and you can reproduce a crash every time from it.

Then post the saved gamed and details on what to do to make it crash.

(These are the easy ones, its the random non reproducable ones I hate [X(]).

Thanks guys!

But they are awesome from a chargeability perspective. If you ask a consultant that is. ;)

I have a small update to this, not sure if you Panther guys have checked it yet - The CTD is related to the HQ units 2.104 and 3.104 located in the woods west and south of Grosbous in the southwest of the map.

Have managed to detach all the subunits from the HQs and they moved without crash, but once an order is given to either of these HQs it crashes.

Hope you guys can fix it, in the meantime at least I can continue with my battle with only the loss of these two units.

Edit: added a later savegame.

Hi,

Checked out your saved game and this bug has already been fixed. You can now give orders to those two Battalions and all continues on fine.

Thanks for the report.

Very glad to hear that![:D]

Btw I was able to play the scenario through with just those two HQ units out of the action.
