Sweep mission losses

Hi,
is there a way to see how many a/c are destroyed on ground by bombers or fighters in sweeping mission? Are they counted in air losses screen at the beginning of the turn? How do the attacker player know if a sweep mission against an enemy A/F is successful or not?
