Short Scenarios

Seem I read in manual there are some "short" scenarios with relatively few units to deal with. Could some one point me in the right direction? (P.S. don't say the tutorial scenario, I am tired of looking at that one, LOL).

I feel the sceanrio description should tell you the unit load of the sceanrio not just the length...I like the smaller scenarios aswell....I believ one of the Piper scenarios is small...not sure which one though.

Try Hofen Ho-Down. There's a quite alot of artillery on the German side but only 3 battalions of infantry plus 1 fusilier company. I've posted the start of an AAR on that scenario in the AAR section if you'd like to see the ground and units.

1. Name
2. Date
3. Size
4. Length
5. Location

Particulary 2, 3 and 4.

I am running Excel 2000. Yes, I know it is 2010.

Select the rows of the table (containing scenarios).

From the MENU, select DATA|SORT. Pick the column you want and ascending|descending and click on OK. It's that simple.

If you don't have MS Office, I suppose you can use www.openoffice.org (free).

However I'm still not quite getting it from your description. If I only select one column (the one I'm interested in, such as number of Allied units, then that is the only column that gets sorted. Really the whole table has to be sorted equally but based of a selected column, other wise no sense to the answers. I've tried selecting the whole table, but then don't see how to pick the particular column for the primary sort? (MS on-line help is next to useless in my opinion.

At least I should be able to print out the table as is, and have something to work with.

Select the whole table except for the column headers before you sort, otherwise the headers will be sorted too. But make sure that the ROW headers are selected. And NEVER sort by selecting a single column, because you will lose all information about what each row of the sorted column corresponds to.If you do it by mistake, you can always try the "undo" command.

I think that this is a big one to add to the to do list. Where people don't know the campaign or even have an amateur grip on it like myself, it's pretty hard as is to start at the beginning and play through to the end of the scen list chronologically without doing extra research.

A sortable table of scens in the UI like that supplied with John Tiller's Campaign Series would be good:

How do you get into XLS with this game though Mark?

I cannot tell if that was a joke.

Running Excel is a third party application like running Windows notepad. You either launch Excel and then open the XLS or double click on the XLS which will launch Excel.

There is no connection between Excel, my XLS, and BFTB other than the manual effort I put into gathering data and creating the XLS.

No I meant - what files would I be opening?

I haven't gone into my BFtB root folder. Will manipulating them change what I see in the game's UI scen list?

The XLS is a data file similar to the way a TXT file is. You can get it and manipulate whether or not you have BFTB installed. There is absolutely no direct connection with BFTB. Nothing you do in BFTB will affect it or vice-a-versa. It is simply an aid I put together for myself and other players.
