DaBigBabes Beta
Well, here it is; think most everything is working now. The previous look was a beta-preview so ya’ll could see where we were going. This version is still a Beta, but it’s a full-Beta. We could have spent another year on it, but I think this will do almost all of the necessary. It’s still a Beta since there may be some stuff that people find that needs attention, but don’t think anything major has to be done, except dink (finally) with the tanks (frankly, we just got tired). It will still work with a Japanese AI (all kneel before MO who figured out how).
Devices: changes too numerous to list – includes all the new rockets and all the tweaks to pen, acc, eff, yadda-yadda. Gazillion changes and additions to squads and eng-squads; these form the basis of the new TO&Es.
Classes/Ships: Changes/additions ? Woof ! Everything from more and better stuff for opening day, all the way up to a reasonable shot at Zipper and Downfall.
Planes/Airgroups: From timtom, so nuf’said. Additions include USN and USMC CAS CAGs to populate the Commencement Bay ships.
LCUs: Woof Woof !! TO&E tweaks for almost everything: bottom line LC, troop count, relative firepower, relative assault values. Paradigm changes for Sup, NavSup, AvSup, in both amount and number of capable units.
So here’s the basic scenario. Ya’ll need to copy/paste/renumber the AI files (and you can even use the ‘quiet China’ files) as before. Questions and comments are expected and welcome.
Request that questions and comments be put in a separate thread – would kinda like to keep this one clean, so we can bump it with revs and stuff.

Test drive time and thanks.

RE: DaBigBabes Beta
For the record, my input has been limited to fixing known bugs and confusing John & Don about air group editor functions
Where's the Any key?

RE: DaBigBabes Beta
Tim Tom do you have a list of the errors and bugs ?
RE: DaBigBabes Beta
Would you say that this mod is in general more pro-allied or pro-japanese (relative to scenarios 1 & 2)?
In what areas/theaters is each side stronger or weaker? (e.g., China, DEI, India/Burma, Australia, naval, air, land)
Thanks,
Andrew

It is intended to be pro-history. Anything pro one side or the other should be simply a reflection of history. Naval, air, and land forces were all adjusted. Not any specific area of the map.
RE: DaBigBabes Beta
Ok, but in what way were they adjusted to make them more historic? Where were the major changes in OOB?

Sorry, but if you are asking for a detailed change log - there'd ain't one. We went through stuff and made changes. Hundreds of hours with reference sources of all kinds, making small or large changes as we went. But no detailed logging of changes. Besides, I was a professional programmer and am prohibited by convention from doing documentation.

Shore Parties? Seems consistant in number with USN Eng Sq. Are used as Naval Support?

SHore parties are a sub-set of Naval Support. They perform only the cargo handling function.

And makes sense. I work in a world as nonsensical as most cartoons {EMS}. Seeing something that makes sense is refreshing and rare. If you added the IQs of my patients over the last 23 years, you would still have a number with only three digits.

And this is so cool and thank you.
RE: DaBigBabes Beta
Had a couple of hours to kill, so I started looking at the Japanese side of Nav and Av support. These are the more "moveable" elements... Baseforces I will not list.
1) Besides 10 Fleets (9 of which have 240 NavSup and 1 has 90), there are 33 Ship Engineer Companies (6 NavSup each), 21 Port Units (18 NavSup each), and 8 Ship Engineer Regiments (also 18 NavSup each, but they have added stuff). Out of those, 8 fleets, 18 companies, and 9 port units at start.
That means, for the first time since I bought AE, I will actually pay CLOSE attention to the Port Size + NavSup combinations...
2) IJNAF HQs: 9 Air Fleets (144 AvSup each), and 17 Air Flotillas (36 AvSup each). Out of those, only 1 fleet (Takao) and 4 flotillas (2x Takao, Saigon, Kwajalein) at start.
3) IJNAF Eng: 59 JNAF Units (24 AvSup each), and 13 JNAF Companies (8 AvSup each). Out of those, 35 units and 10 companies at start.
4) IJAAF HQs: 6 Air Armies (144 AvSup each), and 16 Air Divisions (36 AvSup each). Out of those, only 3 divisions (Nagoya, Kompong Trach, Takao) at start.
5) IJAAF Eng: 143 JAAF Battalions (24 AvSup each), and 16 JAAF Companies (8 AvSup each). Out of those, 53 battalions and all 16 companies at start.
Great! [:D]
Thanks a lot guys!
