Video Tutorial
I just made a first tutorial about moving land unit. The simplest thing in the game.
I would like to hear your opinion about that before I'll continue my work and create more videos.
Watch out for the red splash with the title. It reminds me trailers for the 50's classic movies, so I couldn't resist to include it.

RE: Video Tutorial
Great work. My only suggestion is that you use counters, because I found it hard in that small window to see the sprites. Alternatively, move the whole area of the demonstration to some open space without all the geographical detail. Plains.
RE: Video Tutorial
The Soundtrack is bit intense and the resolution is grainy when you go to full screen.

RE: Video Tutorial
I was trying to find something with similar length.
I was playing in 1024x768 window and video is compressed to 1280x720, what is your desktop resolution?

RE: Video Tutorial
Did you tried to switch YT to HD?
RE: Video Tutorial
Good, but someone like me will have to slow it down!
Really need something on naval movement, with text included, a la Razz's response in another thread:
To move a ship or fleet click on the Circle.
Amenu pops up.
Choose the fleet or individual ship.
Click move.
ZOOM OUT, please.
any circle you see is where you can go.
All ships move two.
Pretty easy.. Count 1,2
plan count 1 2
Remember a Port is a circle, so that is one move.
If your in a port, 1 to sea, 1 to adjacant see.
If in a sea, move to port in sea zone, or move one sea zone and then into a port.
OR if in a sea, move two sea zones.
EXCEPTION
Did you read the manual?
Hint: Ships can only enter certain size ports.

RE: Video Tutorial
Thanks for the Videos [;)] They do give a good idea of the gameplay and, along with the positive threads here, helped me decide to buy it.

RE: Video Tutorial
I like how you can move display windows around to make your own display order. This looks like a VERY nice feature. The game seems very flexable for the player.

RE: Video Tutorial
As it was already mentioned, many of us were a modders before, so we know how important is the availability to adjust and change the game to your needs.
RE: Video Tutorial
How about one for the convoy system? Maybe one showing different supply situations. ThanksORIGINAL: doomtrader

RE: Video Tutorial
A nice set of tutorials there doomtrader, well done. I think these bitesize info pieces really do help the newcomers to the game. Not everyone who picks up the title will be a die-hard grognard. I've taken a step back and now finally understand some of the mechanisms employed in Time of Wrath, so what was previously a bit of a brick wall to me, has now become a lot less intimidating and a lot more entertaining.
In addition to the mechanics of play, movement, combat, purchasing, research etc, I'd like to see some more tips on attacking strategies, or defensive plays, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the units involved. Not giving the secrets away, but sort of showing examples of how the game plays from both sides of a conflict. Nothing too deep, obviously AAR's serve a better medium for delivering overall strategies and campaign settings, but you know, the rudiments of how to best utilise airpower or armour etc.
Anyway, keep up the good work!

RE: Video Tutorial
spelk, thanks for kind words. I think there are many players here, who can made much better AARs than I do.
vonRocko, this would require to write a screenplay, but I'll try to do it this week.

Yes, you're right. No big deal, we really don't need this one.ORIGINAL: doomtrader
