Love the game, but crash and burn.. Noooo

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Love the game, but crash and burn.. Noooo

Post by bretg80 »

Just downloaded BFTB today for Father's day and started playing the tutorial. No reading the manual, just wanted to pick it up and see how easy it is to play.

Having a great time with the tutorial. Moving my troops forward and slowly accomplishing the objectives. Enjoying the heck out of my success. BEGINNERS LUCK I believe. What a blast to be able to just jump into the game and to have fun with it.

Then [&:] I did something and much to my dismay, the game crashed to the desktop. WTFH, I lost all my progress and I don't see an autosave of my game. I know, the game supposedly has one, but this should be on by default. Especially for a newly released game. Ughhhh.

Well, needless to say I'm a little disappointed. If you guys are working on a patch, I would suggest that you set autosave to on by default so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

I know you are fixing the bugs and I have no doubt that in time this game will be more stable, but autosave is a gotta have when the game crashes. Yes [:)] I will find the option and turn it on and yes I will be playing this game again and again. It is too fun not to, just sayin, turn autosave on by default.

Word to the wise... turn on autosave in the options and save often. I don't know what caused my crash, and I know there is a patch in the works. It will save you some frustration.

To end on a positive note, this game Rocks !!!!! Most fun I've had playing a wargame in a long time. [&o]

Happened to me three times right near the end of Race to Bastogne...very annoying as my auto save was a good 12 hours previous. I now save often and don't just rely on the autosave.

These problems are being fixed in the patch though.

I save at minimum every 3 hours of gametime. That way i can also go back and replay if i made a mistake and things are not going my way.i guess you could say this is cheating/gamey.

The reason I prefer human players in all wargames is that I know that I could never do this ( not that I ever would but I can ).
