Continuing to have CTDs over and over in tutorial

Post by bretg80 »

Guys this is really bad. I am playing a very simplistic game with no special timing or otherwise and it continues to crash over and over.

Please release patch soon as I am unable to play the game. Win7 64 machine.

Have you submitted a save game to Dave or Paul?

Yes please provide a save game. One whiich when you just let it run it crashes. I can then check to see if we have fixed your issue.

As you may have noticed I have not been around much the last few days but I'm hoping to get stuck back into things tonight (my worst winter cold in years on top of starting a new job on Monday...uughh!)

Hey Paul,

Sorry to hear about the cold. Hope you are feeling better. I recently started a new job, so I can relate to that as well. I thought you guys at Panther were making enough money to work full time at Panther. So Panther is your second job?

Thanks for the response. Here is the attached game.

Hey Paul, you have your seasons mixed up. Summer began on June 21.

Actually, I should not complain, I now live on the coast and things up here never get very cold (not like Canberra). In 5 winters have yet to see a frost!

I noticed that if a hit a combination of the arrow keys and CTL or SHIFT that I could get the game to run at 100% CPU (basically hanging my system until I could get the Task Manager up to kill it.

Am trying to recall the keys, but when I wasn't remembering them, it happened 3 times in a row! [:@]

If you hit Shift and Fast button then thengame will attempt to run as fast as possible. In doing so it can obviate UI events. I have not seen this causing any lockups. However, as a test could you try to repeat this ( Hold Shift key down and hit the Fast button ) and then hit one of the other run buttons to revert back to a slower speed. Please leet me knoww if this reverts the speed for you and allows you back into the play.

I had this same problem also the second time I ran through the tutorial. It always seem to happen when I was directing artillery. I noticed whenever I would click on the 22 Arm FA Bn unit and direct a bombard mission I would get a crash. Below is a saved game. Click 22 Arm FA Bn the "bombard" order and click on 27 Fuisilier Regt HQ. You should get a crash.
