Unable to run ToW - screen flashes, back to desktop

just installed ToW on an old pc with HDMI connection; starting ToW just goes black and then back to desktop. Screen is 1280x768 in windows (win7 x86). Installed latest nvidia drivers.
Tried moving video files from data directory, no change

Is it possible to set a windowed video setting in a config file somewhere?

Probably it is related with video codecs and intro movies. Try to rename data/intro.avi and data/intro2.avi to some other name (e.g. "_intro.avi" and "_intro2.avi"). This way game won't find them and won't try to play them.

If this won't help, maybe it is related with resolution, although game is designed to detect compatible display modes and run only using one of those.
Open data/GlobalSettings.csv in notepad, change integer value in first line to 99 so that game will automatically select biggest windowed resolution that it can run at. Probably you will then have to change it to smaller one, but game should start.

If still nothing, please show me few last lines from consoleout.txt generated by ToW in it's root directory after crash.
