total newbie help

Well, I freely admit that I am a total newbie in terms of
pacwar. I've heard about it for years, but each time
I tried to get into it, I stopped at the first few paragraphs
of the tutorial.

Is there an easier way of getting started with this game?
Is there sort of a tutorial for the tutorial?
or (dare I say) a better written introduction to the game?

The way I figured it out was by just staring it out in the 1941 scenario and just going from there.

Also, give a look at rich Dionne's web site. He has a document, PWHINTS.doc which is a great document on the game.
