The best CC yet?

Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem is a highly enhanced new release of Close Combat, using the latest Close Combat engine with many additional improvements. Its design is based on the critically acclaimed Close Combat – A Bridge Too Far, originally developed by Atomic Games, as well as the more recent Close Combat: The Longest Day. This is the most ambitious and most improved of the new Close Combat releases, but along with all the enhancements it retains the same addicting tactical action found in the original titles! Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem comes with expanded force pools, reserve & static battlegroups, a troop point buying system, ferry and assault crossings, destructible bridges, static forces and much more! Also included in this rebuild are 60+ battles, operations and campaigns including a new enhanced Grand Campaign!

The best CC yet?

Post by GaryChildress »

I like the new twist to CC with the need to secure bridges. I think this is going to be the best CC yet. It gives a whole new strategic dimension to the campaign. Of course there are some improvements that probably need to be patched with the AI and stuff like that but this game definitely "has it all."

To a degree opinions are determined by expectations. Personally, I would have never "expected" CC to last this long let alone my addiction to playing it. If I didn't enjoying playing it I wouldn't play it. I don't play other games. I am, and have been for many years, a wargamer, specifically interested in WW2 warfare. And as a WW2 wargame LSA rocks the house!

Understanding some of the limitations of the basic platform I think CC is still the best computer wargame in the world available outside the military (oh wait, they use it too!)..... and getting measurably better.

What I am really looking forward to are the mods that will be spawned from this version of CC, especially given the developers ensured it is the most modable CC yet.

cheers

I don't know

With regards to maps and units I think so

but still CC2 campaign are still keeping it in high regards.

and GSJ and TLD are still up there..oh yea GSJ isn't an official CC.[:o] It's just better than CC3-5 combined.
