Days of Infamy:Allied side

Post by AdmNelson »

This is using the Reluctant Admiral mod.

John 3rd(Japanese) and I(AdmNelson Allies) will be going at it.

Differences in the mod-- Allied transports are putting troops ashore at Pogo Pogo, and loaded transports at moving to Port Moresby for the Allies

Japanes subs are deploy in the Java sea and near Suva.

John is very aggresive and this should make it fun-- I tend to be aggresive also

USN CL Boise has already made its presence felt

I will be open to ideas to combat John.

Day one saw two port air raids one at PH( no BBs sunk) and the other at Manila( that was very effective-- 22 ships have sunk at Manila to date).
Kaga was one of the carriers at Manila the other 5 heavies were at PH and now are moving towards Barker Island( which has fallen on 9th) It will be a good question where they are headed.

Invasion Singkawang TF will be landing soon or not? Carriers for the IJN ( Kaga and CVLs)are on the other side of Boreno or most are.

Dang...nice ambush by Boise.

Here is one way to beat John. Deduce his chief strategic objectives (ie, India, Australia, New Zealand etc. then lay a trap by building defences at the likely objectives and marshalling resources nearby but not precisely at the objective to avoid making him change his mind. You want your counterattack/death match to be at the extreme limit of his likely advance.

He likes to attack without divulging his objectives with too much recon. If there are several likely objectives and one is not getting any recon...THAT is where he is going. [;)]

He also has a tendency to split his carriers.

Add to the Boise was the Pensacola raiding at Kwajalein

Right after the landing at Barker Island haven't seen any movement towards Wake. I am using my bombers as patrols with the PBYs

Love the Z key to look at search areas-- At this point all aircraft that search out a good distance are being used to see what is coming

Very interesting turn for the US-- IJN splits carriers and southern group is about three days away from Enterprise and Saratoga-- I will hit the invasion forces for another day. IJN carriers coming from the south will not be surprised this time.
