Hi Everybody,

I've been working on a mod with the target of creating counters which represent a balance of a lot of factors and considerations; such as ease of visibility to the human eye, ease of gameplay and the info required for this (unit and map hex info), boardgaming enthusiasim combined with the possibilities of the computer and military accuracy. Every mod I see always has good ideas which I like and some aspects which I don't like. Therefore I wanted to create a new "compromise" between all these factors which seems attractive to me.

Hence this "Counters combination mod"..... I started with the mods of a lot of other people - so many thanks to all those people out there who have done all that previous good work. I should especially mention carnifex, Agent S, Peter123, damastabongo and anyone else who see's his work in this and I haven't mentioned. [:)]

As I'm an aerospace engineer I like things systematic - so to start with I have created a presentation slide explaining the counters like in a old-style boardgame manual - AH4Ever will especially understand this [;)]

And here is the first screenie of the May 1944 situation in Italy - a good example of showing units which is used a lot... [:D]

And here is the next to view the differences in detail with respect to technology - very much similar to the carnifex mod with a few adjustments on my side... the divisions and air units...

I focused mainly on the land units and have to admit that the ship and air units could maybe be improved even further if one wanted to. But at the moment I am working on transfering these land units to SoP before I would do that [8D]

Oh I'm glad to hear that you all like it so much [:D]

I will start a thread in the SoP forum sometime this weekend on my progress of the transfer of this Mod ... SoP counters kind of need it imho for me to play it well - but after all, it is a brand new game so that's understandable. I already have some ideas going around in my head oh what to do about it [:)]

Just my old tired eyes, but as I play for any length of time the "yellow" strength numbers are wearing me out. Any easy way for me to change them to black?

Hi Randomattack,

Yes that can be done. You open the appearance.csv file with excel and you will find the data for the Strength number (i.e. destination, font type and color) in the line with the italics - the 4 numbers which are additionally underlined are the color definition of this strength number. I will need to check that out this evening to which numbers they need to be changed to to get the strength number to be black:

Format of this line:
Left Top Width Height FontName FontSize FontWeight ColorR ColorG ColorB ShadowR ShadowG ShadowB Description


So if you want black font, then you need to change ColorR and ColorG (both now are 255) back to 0. It should be like this:
