Bug or Me?

I have a TF of BBs, fully armed and fueled commanded by an aggressive Admiral who is of superior attributes. I had the TF set for bombardment, but when it arrived it switched to surface combat. I reset it and the next turn I see it switched again. This latest turn I can't reset to bombardment as it won't take at all.

My invasion could fail due to this lack of support. Is it me or a known bug?

I'm the Allies and these are the old BBs.

A bombardment TF will generally automatically switch to Surface Combat TF after bombardment.

ASSUMING you are not actually have a bombardment scroll by quickly (check ammo usage to see), it sounds like it is automatically resetting for some reason.

This might be part of the infamous "sticky slots" problem, where data doesn't get cleared out and hangs around, messing up TFs... try transferring all the BBs to another TF to see if that helps.

No ammo use, no Japanese dead, no love.....

Next turn I will form up a new Bombardment TF with the BBs from this TF and hopefully go for the jugular.

If it doesn't work the reserves might not arrive in time to save the bacon.

I created a new TF with bombard orders and transfered the BBs to it.  All looks OK and we'll know soon enough when I return from vacation.

i had this problem too (the only time i tried a shore bombardement...ended badly, just read june or july of my AAR, anyway the point is not on this).
I tried many days to give the order to bombard, and the TF reset to Surface combat each time. It get OK when forming a new TF; hope it help and that it will work ! Good hunt !
