Folder Hierarchy and .png in 3.4?

Post by Telumar »

I have .png support on and a set of alternative terrain graphics (all .png) in the AltGraphics folder. When i zoom in or out 3.4 does not use graphics from the Graphics folder when these are missing in the AltGraphics folder.

For example i have no s_tiles_hills.png in the AltGraphics folder. Now, when i zoom tiles_hills.png will be scaled to the according view (small 2D, Huge 2D). The old behaviour was to use files from the normal Graphics folder instead of scaling.

Just tested, it's also true for .bmp without .png support on.

Thanks for noticing. It's intentional.[:'(]

I felt it would be better to scale them based on the normal size instead of grabbing the files from the altgraphics or graphics folder. My reasoning was that it was quite possible for someone to provide a mod for a scenario, or use a different graphics set, and that it would look better to scale the existing set than it would be to mix and match the graphics styles, and possibly the meanings if it was a scenario mod.

I'm not sure if you were complimenting, complaining, or commenting.
