IS this just the miniature game?

Not a big miniature fan. Is this just a port of the dice,ruler and figures game rules with the computer doing the measurements. Anything different? Besides not spending 100's of $ on toy soldiers [;)]

Game mechanics are similar.  Unit damage model is different.  Instead of steps, the PC version uses %.
Well it has online multiplayer capabilities instead of face-to-face play on tabletop.
