best using of training groups

Post by Czert »

any advice on this ?
Which is best ratio of instructors ( exp 80+) to students ? And at which exps to pull out pilots from there ? And it is good to use general trainin(and at which alltitude) to train pilots for all groups (figthter/bomber..etc) or only specialize in type of plane in which they fly ? (in my case fighters).

The only "good" pilot you need is the leader, who should have good admin skills (I think).

Other than that just select the skill set you want and set a high percentage. Altitude is irrelevant. Pull them out when they get into the 60's, they won't get any higher.

Back from holidays. I see there is a new patch. I take it that the training squadrons are back in the game? [:)]

Nope. I suspect that the OP has read the "pilot training" manual left in the game since the patch 2.
So when he talks about training squadron he prolly talks about normal squadrons set to training.
Getting the impression that some of the things that are in there still applies to normal squadrons
set to train. I could be wrong, tho.

I see lots of ppl discounting the advice in that manual. Ofc those things that has to do with specific training
squadrons doesnt count. Im personally not so sure that the others dont. Tho its the general accepted view
that nothing really helps.

From doing training of my pilots in a very anal fashion(ask no more)[:D] in my latest PBEM, it seems to me that there is still more to it in terms of factors that count in training than basicly non. I have no numbers to back that up with tho. Pure gut feeling.

Kind regards,

Rasmus

In fact, I modifed scenario and created AG with training group checked - and this unit can only perform training and stand down :).

ASnd have no idea if they work or not :))). So, I asking for advices/exps (or if someone want, runed tests).
I have latest patch.

Try look in the documentation folder of the game. There is a manual published with patch 2.
Some info on training groups there. Since they vanish again so far i dont know if any have much more experience with them. I know i dont [:)]

Hope it helps,

Manual only states that piolots in dedicaded trainng groups will train faster - or more prcisely - have higher change of having skill/exp increase. But thats all, no info about at which exps/skill to relase pilots (that button is here), and in which pool they will go (universal, or trainer group specific - fighter/bomber...etc).
And which pilots will be send to pool (with highest exps or overall skills ? - it will include instructors ?).
And for me they have have no withdrawn date, so they will stay in game, untill I win or lose :).

Anyone is willing to make test on this ? (other than me :) ).
