units values

Post by william44af »

hello.

First, i'm french, so i appologize for my english...

I'm looking for some informations i may have missed, because of my english reading ability ...

1/
I can see unit on the map with their historic name, or with a little picture and a number... what is this number ?

i can't find it anywhere else : it doesn't seems to be readyness nor supply ...

2/
when cliking on a subunit, i can see soft attack, hard attack... values...
but how can i know the global value for a stack ? or a division ?

3/
soft or hard attack are two value I.E. :
MG34 hard attack 10/10 soft attack :19/38
what is the difference between 19 and 38 ? in wicht case will they be used ?

4/
i select a defender and two or three attackers.
is there any way to have an idea of probability of success ?
I can see my bonus/malus ( stacking, concentric, divisionnal)
but not basic chances or odd ratio nor any other basic informations...?

5/HQ
how can i see or find there range ? i mean, not for supply but for command radius ?

sorry if this informations are available somewhere else i didn't see...

thank you for the game and your help.

ps : will you make a french manual ?

I'll try to answer your questions:

1. The number is an estimate of the units fighting strength. Use it to compare to enemy units to see if you want to fight. But other factors affect fighting like terrain and such and are not in that number.

2. You have to add it yourself. This is also kind of reflected in the number mentioned above.

3. Hmmm... not sure how to explain that... maybe Vic can help.

4. There is no wy to see the probability of success. Neither is there in rel life. :) If you have enough fire power and the enemy is not prepared you should win a fight but there's always a chnce things can go wring.

You english is way beter than my French and I've taken many french courses! [:o]
Hope this helps and you enjoy the game.

No problem! [8D]

For HQ ranges its 100% effect out to 8 hexes then it drops by 20% for each hex beyond that.
If you select a unit and click on the "Unit Details" tab you can see what effect teh HQ is having on that unit - it's called HQ power.

i see this exemple.
HQ give 25% bonus
if experience is 40% it climbs at 65%
If general is 2 stars, he gives 40% of 65 more
so 65% + 26% = 91%, as it is in the manuel(page 37).

Guderian is exactly in this case, but he gives only 81%, not 91%

why ?
its o-s and s-t are 1 each...

can you help my understanding ?

The manual text is wrong. Sorry.
And the answer is rather byzantine but here it goes.

If you look at Guderian in round 1 of Case White

He has 81% bonus because his bonus is

25% + (staff xp * officer bonus)
(you can right click the percentage to see the build up)

or

25% + ( 40% * 1.4 ) = 81%

sorry for the wrong example in the manual.

best regards,
Vic
