Summer is in full swing....
The last of the rains have passed....
The birds are singing (when they can be heard over the crack of the 88' or the shrill scream of a stuka in a dive)
And a young man's mind turns to...no, not sex...but killing the Fascisti.

News from the front....

Leningrad front: Steady, fighting retreat after 2 failed efforts to destroy an isolated panzer Korps

Baltic front: Effectively cut off, it's units assigned to either Kalinin or Leningrad fronts, and told to break through German lines. The appropriate letters have been written to General Bogdanovich's family, explaining the bravery he faced in his last struggle against the enemy (actually he's been directed by Comrade Stralin to taste the business end of his own service pistol for his family's sake)

Kalinin front: A fighting withdrawal

Moscow Front: Withdrawal from a huge salient caused by fascist attacks.

Western Front: A fighting withdrawal, with many rounds of battle over each hex

Bryansk front: Local counterattack against an isolated PzKorps. T'wasn't as isolated as expected, our pincers shattering after running into Kruppstahl. Air Marshall Tupelov will be sweating bullets when this bit of poor intelligence gathering causes him to visit Stavka

Orel Front: Drawing units from other fronts have rebuilt this shattered HQ

Voronezh Front: Rebuilding about the city of it's name. All the units are new, being the descendents of units captured or shattered this spring.

Kharkov Front: The destruction of Voronezh front made a withdrawal to the east of Kharkov necessary

Southern Front: Comrade general Vasillevskii has held out all spring despite vicious German assaults. Only the fall of voronezh front and the subsequent retrograde movement of Kharkov front has caused hard won postions to be handed over with no struggle whatsoever

RVGK: Marshall Timoshenko's staff are building new units and reforming old ones faster than Detroit is turning out cars. Generalfeldmarschall von Techex is the bull to my china shoppe!

Air war: Units continue to grow as factories turn out hundreds of new aircraft. Last count contained 7,200 machines ready to take the air. However, the privations suffered in the defence of Moscow means that more training will be required before they can match the Fascists

Stavka: Tanks Armies have now been formed. It was hoped to launch them in a huge surprise for the enemy, but his airpower discovered one placed to near the front.

AS the enemy nears Moscow, the full force of our armies will be unleashed..until then the beatings will continue until morale improves
Jesus ...., with all respect. This closet germanism is allways killing me.
