Historical Campaign - and yet Variants active?

The team behind the award-winning game Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive early days of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris is the first in an innovative series of operational World War II wargames that also include a strategic element. The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris simulates Germany’s military successes in Poland and France in 1939 and 1940 (including also a hypothetical “Sea Lion” invasion of Great Britain).

Historical Campaign - and yet Variants active?

Post by Chocolino »

I am playing the historical campaign and have started CASE Yellow. Maybe I misunderstand the rules but I though that there were no variants active in this setting (and hence it is the easiest). But upon start I was informed that several divisions are withdrawn to the east to deal with a potential Russian threat. This is one of the variants described on p63 of the manual and indeed the units mentioned in the manual are missing in the OOB.

So - can variants still come into play even if you play "historical" or is this something that was not supposed to happen? Thanks.

Thank you for the feedback, Franck.

Just found also an older threat below from 9/3 where it was reported that in Case Yellow some other variants did not seem to work right. I am still playing 1.00b and hope that the new 1.01 will address this.

It seems like another issue with the campaign carry-over of variables. Sorry to hear this. Will look into it and fix it for the upcomming patch asap. Thanks very much for reporting.

Vic, Thank you for being so responsive.

I am still trying to figure out the finer details of the game (and are still far from it) but it is already one of my favorites on the topic. Great Game!
