highlighting divisions of the same corps

The team behind the award-winning game Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive early days of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris is the first in an innovative series of operational World War II wargames that also include a strategic element. The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris simulates Germany’s military successes in Poland and France in 1939 and 1940 (including also a hypothetical “Sea Lion” invasion of Great Britain).

highlighting divisions of the same corps

Post by Krupinski »

when you select an division, it would be nice, when all other units (regiments) belonging to the same division would be highlighted.

bairdlander is correct but I think hafer's is an excellent idea. The current method of discriminating between units is nice--but too subtle. Add hafer's idea to the mix and the ability to rapidly comprehend the organizational situation could lead to better decision making by the player.

This is completely unnecessary. It would be nice to have some indicator which units belong to the same division but not corps, the bar on the left of the counter already shows that.

fully agree, for corps we have the colour-codes. it's necessary just for regiments belonging to one devision, as i said in my first post.

in your first post you say corps, so if you meant division you might want to edit that

It would be nice if all the subordinate elements of a division were highlighted when you selected any one of them.

Fully agree, colors on the bar on the counter are not easily distinguishable and, obviously, them don't work if units are stacked below other units. I lose a lot of time clicking on stacks and changing colors to find units that belong to the same division (and this is important for the divisional cooperation) or the same Corps/Army (and this is important for the HQ Power %, supply, and to use action cards). So, the selected hex could be green outlined (more visible that light grey) and the hexes which contains units of the same division or formation could be light grey outlined.

This thread has been up for three days now with no comment from VIC. Tells me it is not a priority with him at this time or it can't easily be done.

Please give Vic some slack, he's not visited the forum in some days, I'm sure he has other important matters to attend to. I don't want to play spokesperson but I' sure he will respond whenever he can.

No offense intended. You took it the wrong way. I'm a big Vic fan and am nutral on this issue anyway.

Sure, just wanted to say that it may be too early to jump to conclusions as to what Vic's stance on this is :)

Vic is on vacation until Oct. 1
