FITE 3.4 BETA

Post by loveman2 »

Playing now against opponent and have noticed that my units supply runs out faster than using version 3.2, also have noticed problems with poineers and unit corps trying to rebuild bridges and taking multiple turns to do so. Partizan unit appear out of nowhere onto rail hexes. A german division which should be in with the finns is just no where to be seen and rail reconstruction also takes a few attempt. Comments welcome from others who have experienced this[&:]

Suggest you read the 'what's new' for the patch, eh?

Most of the things you've related are delt with in same. Except for the missing unit, LOL!

What scenario?

Not sure but I think this scenario has not been updated for 3.4 which includes changes for most of what you list. Maybe that's the difference. But as 1_Lzard said, won't account for the AWOL Germans.

The chance of engineering and rail repair are now modified by the fraction of movement left. This fixes
the gamey trick of sub-dividing those units then attempting repair with two of the sub-units, then
recombining and being able to use the unreduced combined capacity. Now, the loss of MPs by the first two
attempts will render this trick useless. Note that this also adds an additional bit of realism to repairs.

Is anyone at all working on a up-to-date version of FITE for PBEM?
I know some guys work on Directive 21 but that is for Soviet PO only.

There are many problems for 3.4

most important might be the air force model in 1941, since fite used the specific toaw model to generate a special behaviour. Do to the new rules this is gone and vvs air force is even more powerfull. I think with 3.5 and Ralphs conformation that he might will increase the maximum number of units / formations etcpp it may be redesigned.

For you guys playing FiTE under 3.4, are the Soviets getting beaten worse than before? Just wondering because cooperation penalties for defenders have been implemented by Ralph.
