dumb question re scenarios

Post by ScabFace »

Pardon me but I don't find a long, historical scenario starting May, 1942 through late '43. I see hypothetical ones as though Midway didn't happen. Am I missing something? Thanks,

If you play the long scenario that starts in june, it takes in account Midway. But if you want a completely historical scenario starting in May, then most likely if you have undamaged carriers as a Japanese player, they would be withdrawn to support the Midway invasion and CINCPAC would do the same for the Americans in response leaving both players with but a few assets to do nothing more than maintain the LOC's. You would be sitting around till early August before anything started to really happen again. Besides, I already know how a pure historical scenario turned out:)

Historical Scenarios...

That's correct - the historical campaign start in June (including Midway results) and August.

Is it possible to play the scenario that starts in May with historical reinforcements chosen as an option? I ask this because I played the 3 month Operation MO scenario with variable reinforcements and the Japanese received all the Midway operation carriers in mid-June even though that scenarion is supposed to use an historical OOB.

note: this is not a complaint... I was pleased to see the other Japanese carriers because I had hammered the first three I encountered in May... I figured that they cancelled the Midway operation due to my overwhelming success at Coral Sea in May.
fair winds,
Brad
