Quiet China

Post by NAVLT66 »

I have started scenario 7 - The Full Campaign (Quiet China) against the AI Japan. I chose this because I didn't want to get involved with China, yet early in the game I am seeing numerous ground attacks by the Japanese in China. Is that to be expected in the quiet China Scenario? Is there something I can do to stop the activity in China?

Jost let it be, AI will capture some historically captured bases and then settle down. At least that's how it's supposed to go.

I have played the Quiet China scenario twice as the Allies against the Japanese AI. Sardaukar is right, after several months, the Japanese AI settles down in China. Until then, you can simply ignore the action taking place there.

The two posters above are correct. If I remember correctly, the quiet china scenario did away with all or nearly all scripted attacks in China. However, the AI also has routines that let it handle tactical matters, such as attacking or pursuing a nearby weak opponent. In the beginning you will see attacks on your dispersed corps and maybe a city or two will get attacked. However, once you consolidate and form a strong front line the Japanese shouldn't try to break it.

I've run a couple of test games in the quiet china as both allies and IJ.  both times worked as advertised.  Just leave your units alone along the front and in a couple of months (actually I remember more like mid-Jan) nothing more happens there.

I haven't played QC scenarios at the moment.  If you play Quiet China, how does the AI react to your agression in the theater?
