It sounds like you need to run MODSELECT.BAT...

For some reason, i have to run it twice when i do an install... so try it again if you have already done it.

The only thing i can think of off hand is to manually replace the map file.

EDIT: To get the file names, you can look at the modselect.bat file.

You might try this file:

ART\Maps_Modified_v6\PWhex.dat

this should be the CHS mapfile, i think.

Do a complete reinstall from scratch and very carefully follow the instructions because it's different for Windows XP and Vista.  That solved my problems with CHS.

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.

It's been so long since i had installed my CHS that i didn't even know there were separate directions for VISTA! [X(]

Good to know!! [&o]

the trick is to copy the pwhex file from the andrews witp map AND extended map directly into the game folder.

beside that, just make a copy of witp and then you dont need modselect.bat. you can directly replace all the files in the art folder with the chs files.

that for the folks with similar problem.

A word of advice: copy over the CHS folder onto a CD... if something goes wrong later, you can just recopy the file over onto an installation of WITP.

This is important if you are playing PBEM... the files for download have been known to change (with upgrades, etc., although this is less likely these days)... if the files change, you can no longer download the old files, and there will be sync problems.

So best to copy them before problems arise.
