PacWar Editor 2.1 Applicability to Ver3.0

Post by BullHalsey »

:p Is there an updated version of Richard Dionne’s PacWar Editor 2.1 that is compatible with the latest version of Pacific War 3.0? Here are a few discrepancies that I have observed wghen using pacwared2.1:

I have noticed when using pacwared2.1 that was included in the latest download that the Ki-46-II (A/C slot #99) is not visible on the Aircraft tab, but there is a factory listed on the Factory sheet. On the Factory tab, Factory #50 states that it is producing Ki-51s, though number is actually for Ki-46-II.

In addition, it appears that the headquarters have different higher headquarters shown on line 3 than the number indicated in the corresponding column. For example, the Imperial GHQ is indicated a “0”- i.e. itself as the higher HQ, but on line 3 of the editor- the Imperial GHQ reports to the China Exp. Force.

It is compatible with everything but the Ki-46 (which was able to be created through Mika's editor). The HQ thing has always been as such, but is only applicable in that section of the editor.

So, it IS compatible with 3.0, but the only way to edit the Ki-46 is to use Mika's editor.

I've noticed some discrepancies using the included 22.xls editor with v3.0. Leaders assigned to the wrong commands (US generals as CINC Burma Area Army, etc.), invalid HQ structures (West Coast listed as under Nat'list China) and so forth.

Wierd fluke, or some incompatibility? In-game seems OK...

Cmdrcain:

Where can I find this editor? I remember seeing somebody (Adm Dadman??) posting a website long ago for this editor. My memory fails me, but for some reason (at least I thought at the time) the BEARS editor was not very user friendly or I couldn't access it from the website.

OBC41.

Shows West Coast as subordinate to Nat'l China; SWPac under SoPac; CentPac under West Coast; Combined Fleet under 8th Area Army, etc.
