Im all over this sorry to post this but I felt the other wargamers had to know (I buy a ton of Matrix games too!). I think it is kinda cool.

I'm a little unclear on how this works though the DD option. I just ordered it, but I don't see the link for download or an email with the link yet. I'm assuming that it's forthcoming, but I'm used to the instant link as we have here at Matrix.

When I ordered it the link was on the next page right after I bought it and the order was confirmed. I didnt navigate off that page. There is a limit of 10 downloads but I mean I havent ever downloaded something more than 3 times to be honest. There is also an email you should get. I used a credit card though didnt use Paypal this time

Also if you log back into the site their is a detailed invoice and at the bottom is a link to download (click the name of the title)

Does this mean he has left HPSSims? I don't see the game listed there...

Wish it was a Civil War/Squad Battle, or a new Panzer Battle title..

AH HA! This is exactly what I was asking my friend! Does this mean he is splitting off? That is after all a spiffy new website that he has and HPS Sims has been very adamant against moving into the "modern" age it seems

Wow

I've been checking his website for info on Panzer Battles, a 250m platoon level game, to see how close it is to JTCS.

I've also kept an eye on the wargamer HPS forum as people were waiting for the First Friday of the month new release from HPS. Hints was a 43 game from Rich and Glen. Since Glen chimed in I thought it would be a PzC game. Some people guessed Kharkov 43.

I did not expect Tiller to set up his own store. The times they are a changin'

If I am not mistaken some things are new in this version. First off the mouse wheel scroll up or down changes the map and now there are sound effects when a unit moves.

Times are changing indeed!

Well it does appear that John Tiller is going to be self publishing his own games independantly of HPS

Good to know for future reference. But with WitE at the gates not really an option right now.

To add to cmurphy, online activation, one computer at a time.

V22, yes all future work will be self published.

I play on a desktop in my cellar.. and a laptop.. switch between the two all the time as I"m sure a large population of us Wargamers do.. I'm all for them protecting their investment.. but don't screw your paying fan base..

For all the people that slam Steam.. Steam rocks compare to this.. I have it install on every computer in my house and I can install MY games on any computer in the house..

What happens if your PC crashes (you didn't get to do the 'uninstall').. your up a creek!

sorry didn't mean to seem 'angry'.. just was psyched to see them go to digital download.. but then seeing this DRM scheme really ticked me off.. I prefer playing on my desktop (big monitor - Stereo hooked up for sound - better keyboard/mouse).. but I hate playing in the cellar.. lol so lots of times I play as well on the couch in the living room.. and it is great for when you travel as well.. get to do something at night before bed [;)]
