Zoom out

Revolution Under Siege is a simultaneous turn based historical wargame that puts you in charge of one of the factions that fought the Russian Civil War (1917-1923). From a ragtag group of volunteers create the powerful Red Army, using all the weaponry and equipment at your disposal: planes, tanks, armored trains, Cheka troops and the Konarmia (the famous Red Cavalry). Or, on the opposite side, gather all patriots and reform the elite divisions that shall save Holy Mother Russia. Can you succeed in crushing the Bolshevik hydra? Or will the people’s Revolution prevail?

Zoom out

Post by nukkxx5058 »

The map zoom out is not sufficient. We should be able to look at the big picture which seems to be not possible. And of course, the mini map doesn't do the job ... this is frustrating. Or am I missing something ?

There is a map tab in the ledger - the place where you go to order replacements, do requisitions, choose game options etc. It shows the disposition of all forces you can see in the fog of war. If you hover the mouse over the squares and triangles, a tooltip will show you the composition of the force. You can click on it and the map will zoom there.

Thanks but yes, I noticed all that already. But this is not totally statisfying for me as I would like to play with the map display options (political colors, , etc ) on a full picture scale ...

Russia is huge. It's just impossible to go further in zooming, especially when reolution is low.

Well, other games like europa-universalis and Heart of Iron are doing it very well, and from the whole planet to single regions. This lack of zoom in RUS is my biggest concern and it's a real pain for me. This flaw might prevent me to play the game ... can we envisage further zoom levels in next patches ?

Yep. I personaly don't like real time games (with very few exceptions). So EU and HOI are not any more installed on my PC. It's a pity because RUS looks great but I'm afraid I bought another game I won't play because of this issue. Well, I might give anothe try but a full zoom out would have been so cool ....
