Overlays Don't Work When Unit Selected

Map overlays don't show properly when a unit is selected (e.g. if I have a unit selected and then I click on the 'rail' map overlay button in the toolbar, nothing shows up until I deselect the unit and then again press the 'rail' button). I don't know if this is WAD or not, but would be nice to be able to see overlays without deselecting units.

The rail overlay will not show when a unit is selected.
All understanding comes after the fact.
