BTR Scroll rate

Post by rictavian »

Was the jerky scroll rate of the old BTR ever addressed in the new release from Matrix? If so I may well consider purchasing the Matrix game.

I didn´t play the old BTR but can tell you there is no jerky scroll rate in this game.

Turn off the "show night". For some reason it kills the framerate, at least to me, in both BTR and WitP:AE...

Well, I noticed different settings that help on different computers.
Turn Off the Night in the Options help on one machine, but on my absoute HighEnd-Gaming PC I still experienced some major stuttering effects while scrolling.
Here the following setting allowed my to play smoothly:

Set DirectDrawSoftwareEmulation
Use Window Mode
Processor Affinity All Cores
Set Processor Affinity to always.

Now the game just runs fine, except: the StartMap turns black on certain occasions (no solutions yet, but it does not bother my game play a lot).
Funnily on this machine, I keep the Night and all other settings on. No Problem.
