Rookie in Matrixgames with thoughts

Ok, this game is HARD. I would like a scenario added, but i will post that in the editorforum.

I tried the strategy described on the frontpage of this forum in the thread bug or way to get rid of the lw. Well, it didnt work for me. I didnt destroy flights of lw, i got many pilots WIA instead.

Its strange to see that the lw is still as good at shooting down my planes even with 500 pilots KIA(and i would think the veterans) and lost 1000 planes over 2 weeks.

I am playing the 44 scenario and am happy when i loose 80 planes and see the Germans loosing 60-80, then i know the favor is on my side. I dont like it on days when i loose 240 planes and the Germans only 40.

The cirkle around the radarstation during raids, are the radarstations operational and tracking or what?

I play USAAF on my comp thanks to a Vic-64 emulator and i try to use the same strategy in this game as in that one. As many bombers as possible on missions, less cloud is good and then scores of fighters. The trouble is that i only know that the P51s can reach Berlin, i dont know how far the P40s or P38, can they reach Hamburg? The escorts are placed as close escorts, and then in intervalls up to 4000 feet above. In USAAF i had escorts 10 - 20k over the bombers also, but it dont seem to work here. Its the same tactics as the allies came up with IRL from what i read.

Starting the day with bombingmissions at 400 feet with fighterbombers attacking radarstations and/or airfields is a great way to wake up the Germans

Fighter sweeps on airfields, dont set the last waypoint on the airfield, but some distance away, and set the "patrol point" over the AF. Thanks to a bug in game, your fighters will not take damage from flak if they fly high enough, but will still shoot down about 50% of the landing planes while they can still dogfight effectively as ever, they will not lose altitude.

In the beginning, the Luftwaffe has huge stocks of 109 G-6. If you keep downing around 50 planes a day and they are not 80%+ 109G-6, the AI will not run out of them. Other planes, yes... The German war production is able to produce around 80 aircraft a day even with some factories bombed down. If they keeps losing planes at that rate, very soon they will have mainly the G-6s against you, and they are target drones against anything that isnt a P-40, P-38H or Spitfire V at high alts. You can afford losing more aircraft than the Germans, especially if those extra losses to you also raise the losses unsustainable for the Jerries. In practice, its impossible for Allies to run out of capable planes let alone the less able, but you might get issues with pilot numbers and morale should you sustain heavy losses. For example, you will receive around 30 4-engined daylight bombers(B-17s and B-24s) a day - do you think the Germans can shoot down that much? [:'(]

P-38J and especially L have a very good range too, P-38L better than P-51B. Check the weapons database. Endurance is the time they can fly in minutes(uninterrupted), range is the range they can fly back and forth. P-40 is very short legged compared to just about anything you have.
