Fog Of War

Post by Manstein63 »

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, if not you have my apologies.
I have been playing the scenario Road to Minsk as the Axis with FOW set for the Soviets. I have noticed that when you select a unit to move the area's that it can move to are coloured in pale pink & any places that you cannot move to is set in a darker pink shade. However if the Soviet player has a unit in a hex that hex is also shown as dark pink.
This means that you can select a unit & see where the Russian player has put units (you might not not know what is there but you know that something is) & then you can use arial recon to find out what. Is there any way that these units can be invisible until you go next to them, for example a Infantry division has a movement allowance of 16 points so when you select the unit it shows all the hexes that it can go to up to its movement allowance but doesn't show that there is a unit or group of units blocking its advance until it comes into contact with them. This would also be the case if you were playing the Soviet side. not a problem if you were playing against the AI but might be considered gamey if you were playing against a human opponent.
Thanks

You may turn Movement FOW - it won't show movement paths that far.
