Newb question:Bombarding

Post by Bob123 »

If i give the (rightclick-menu) order to bombard,my ships forget the bombing order after a few seconds.
They instead switch to "attacking" the planet which means they dont use bombs to soften the defenders up,but instead start landing troops(which get massacred).

A second similar Problem is:
They never stick to their set engagement stance (return fire/nearby/systemwide).
If i (for example) order them to sit in a spot and only to return fire, they switch to "engage systemwide" and start getting killed by the hostile starbase on the other side of the solar system.

In both cases Military is on full manual.Neither the Ship or the fleet in which it is is on auto.

Help would be welcome.

Yes it seems you have to order the bombarding ships to start doing it on their own.
