As most of you know, four websites currently support SPWAW besides this one.

They are the Raider site:
http://wbr.thegamers.net

The Steel Panthers Arsenal (Bryan Melvin)
http://sparsenal.thegamers.net

Rick Cloutier's Fine SPWAW Page
http://sites.netscape.net/rcclout

And Fabio's ARMOR Site.
http://www.fprado.com/armorsite/sp_waw.htm

Now some good news. Fabio has posted on his site a very complete listing, quite up to date, of all the changes coming in version 3.0 of SPWAW. Its quite a list.

It makes for some great reading!

Very well done, Fabio. Thanks to you, Rick, the Raiders and all of you out there for your support....WB

You are very welcome Wild Bill!
Fabio did do a very good job on the new features for V.3.0. I was in the progress of doing the same thing when I pop over Fabio's site. I won't post mine on my site, since Fabio done such a good job.
Congrats to Fabio for a job well done.

I thank you very much for your kind words. However, I would like you to post yours, also. I think we all will benefit from it.
It will only add to a good thing, and that's the kind of support the boys working those long night hours to bring us this splendid game need. The more info about the upcoming version, the better!
I, for one, want to read Tankhead's view on the upcoming version...

I routinely navigate amongst these sites for news, secnarios and just plain fun. All are well done, and I and my gaming friends heartily appreciate the selfless efforts on the part of all. We have been gaming for many years (many of us since the old SPI days) and are enthused on how fellow gamers have responded to Matrix's efforts. Other companies should take a good, hard look at what Matrix has done, and replicate the attitude. Having said this, it is not that the game was free-we would have bought it in any case. It is the rapid response to gamers' suggestions, criticisms and other feedback that make Matrix exceptional. I cannot speak for others, but we have become loyal converts to the company. keep it up guys, and we wish you much success.

Was just reading Fabio's site (awesome work- thanks) and two questions came to mind I haven't seen discussed elsewhere.

1) If I right click on a enemy unit during a battle will the resulting popup included the penetration table (range/ armor thickness) info? If not I think this would be cool info to make easily available during a battle assuming changes are still possible to V3.0.

2) Bug? I've found if I attempt to rally a unit after failing a rally check by all levels of command to achieve a rally I can sometimes get a positive effect ie: it does rally. Specifically the rally button shades dark which I thought to mean the check failed and the unit could no longer be rallied (wouldn't try). I continued to hit the button (by accident) and did get a rally after the dark shading of the "r" button occured.

As always if these have been discussed my apologies for revisiting.

Thanks, R

Rover, it's a tech question and this is a guess based on the game system. Mike or Tom may correct me.

I think it has to do with formation leaders and the higher overall leader.

When the unit leader fails, clicking like that sends the request for rally higher and it may be enough to rally. Again, this is a guess.

Thanks WB- if I remember correctly I saw the failed rally check go through all the appropriate levels of command (three in this case), if I understand your thinking correctly...

Anyway it seems easily duplicatable as I can
do it any time to a unit that's already failed the check and has a supression of >1.
Maybe it happens with supression of <=1 but I've never tried it. If you happen to be in a game you should be able to see it consistently.
