German SU's Hoarded at OKH

Post by jhdeerslayer »

I mentioned this in an earlier thread of mine below. I have almost 70 SU's stuck at OKH and they won't filter down. Not sure how long this has been happening but first noticed it on Turn 7. I have a Turn 7, 8, and 9 Save that shows they don't move. When I manually transfer units out to say AGN they come right back to OKH also.

As says below, Suppoer Level is 0 except Corps and nothing locked. I have the 3 Saves above. Would anybody be willing to look at them and see if I am an idiot or an odd bug here?

""So if SU's arrive at OKH how many turns should it take for them to filter down to Corp level? I need to play around a little more but I have OKH = 0, AG's = 0, Army =0 (nothing is locked anywhere) Corp = 2-4 and OKH still seems to hold onto over 60 SU's. Manual says distance is not an issue and only if the HQ is not in supply will it not receive SU's. ""

You must ensure the flow of support units down the chain of the command!

If your Army and Army group HQs vae "Support Level" set to "0" then the support units will not flown down to the Corps HQs...

Actually if your Support Level at the higher HQ is set to LOCKED you disable the auto flow. If you set it to 0 it just means that HQ will not try to take any Support Units. So first check to make sure in the preferences to uncheck "Lock HQ Support' and then the game will auto default the HQ to 3 and you can go in and reset them up or down as needed.

Don, "Deerslayer" already wrote that they are not set to "Locked" - they are set to "Support Level" = "0"...

Interesting, per the manual only setting it to LOCKED is supposed to disable the auto flow. I may have missed it about setting it to 0, my assumption is that if its at 0 it would not effect the auto flow, at least according to the manual.

The way it works that each level of HQ can provide support units to the subordinates only from it's won assets. OKH can't transfer directly to the Corps or Army. It serves only AG. Since AG has set to 0 it is effectively means that it won't get anything form from OKH, because it doesn't need anything, but it also means that if it would have some SU it can send it further (if there is a need), i.e. not locked. So you can manage the SU flow by setting variable SL and lock the once you reach the required levels. Ex.

Set OKH to 0, AG to 1, Armies to 2, and Corps to 3. Sort of potential difference creating a current :)

Thanks guy I wondered about this but thought I saw somebody recommend this 0 type setting. Anyway, I will try the 1,2, etc. (easy to do in the CR screen!) approach and seems that should do it.

No problem at all!

BTW, I tested this "to death" during WitE ALPHA/BETA... [8D]
