How do you use the cards?

The team behind the award-winning game Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive early days of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris is the first in an innovative series of operational World War II wargames that also include a strategic element. The Blitzkrieg from Warsaw to Paris simulates Germany’s military successes in Poland and France in 1939 and 1940 (including also a hypothetical “Sea Lion” invasion of Great Britain).

How do you use the cards?

Post by FroBodine »

I just got the game. Went through the tutorial and skimmed the manual. There was NOTHING about how to use and play the cards. How can you have a tutorial that doesn't show you how to play cards? If there is a detailed explanation in the manual then I missed it, and I will reread.

Otherwise, could some kind soul please explain how the card system works? How do you find where they are? How do you play them?

Thanks from a Decisive Campaigns noob.

The cards are all held by HQs. Select a HQ and if it has a card, a "Play Card" button will be available. Select that and then a window will pop up asking what unit you want to play the card on.

There are also strategic level cards in some scenarios. These cost PP points to use.

See the pic below for the different types of cards.

Thanks to both of you! How do you get more cards? Is it just an automatic thing that happens, or do you have to take an action to draw more cards?

Or are the cards allocated at the beginning of the scenario, and that's all you get?

Strategic cards are given at the start of a scenario and that's it.

The leader cards will regenerate over time.

If you look at the screenshot Bartheart posted above very closely, you will see that on the bottom of the grayed out action card it shows 10%, which is the percentage chance that HQ will get that action card next turn. Some HQs, especially the ones with stars on their portraits, have higher values like 20% or even 30%. I can't remember if the bad leaders (those with red down arrows on their portraits) have a lower chance or not.
