Mechanised Corps into Mountain Division

In my last turn, a mechanised corps changed after movement into a soviet mountain division when another division was moved into the same hex (it was not under attack).
Why could this occur? I find my Soviet mechanized divsions very good and do not like to needlessly lose them.

Do you have a save and if so: could you send it to 2by3?

It was a mountain division in the first place.

You should then just ask the local Kommisar where he put all the motorized transport for your Mechanized division... Surely Comrade you realize my unit is a Motorized division!
