Considering Upgrade

Post by mamnich24 »

Dear Folk,
I have TOAW Century of Warfare. I'm considering getting TOAW III.
1. Can TOAW I and other scenarios brought into Century also be converted to TOAWIII, and will they play ok?
2. What are the other advantages of upgrading to TOAWIII?
I'm using WinXP
Thanks,
Mike

1. Well thinking about what has changed since those times any scenario of that age will surely need to have at least a fresh round of playtest to make sure everything runs as intended, but otherwise it should be possible in general.

2. Bug fixes, better graphics, new scenarios, ... and to know how it changed since release just check the whatsnew.pdf.

While I agree totally with that, I should point out that the older scenarios require quite a bit of work to bring them up to 3.4 standard. Don't let that put you off though. You won't be disappointed with the improvements that TOAW III brings.

Best wishes,
Steve

PS. And a happy New Year!

I love the smell of TOAW in the morning...

I think scenarios brought into ACOW can be ported to TOAW3 by just pulling them into the T3 editor and saving. I think a lot of ACOW and earlier scenarios have already been ported over.

I'm running on XP, and that has not presented any problems. I started with version 3.2 and am now running beta versions of 3.4, including 201, and XP handles them just fine.
