Armada 2526 Game Save Problem

I recently purchased a new, unused copy of this game from a used book store. After loading the game, following ALL of the instructions, not omitting any of the DirectX or other installs, I began playing it and found it a very entertaining game. I was playing the Tutorial and had to stop due to time limits, and was unable to save the game. I thought it might have been because I was in tutorial mode, so I started a new game and could not save that either. I thought it was that I didn’t have the most up-to-date version, so I downloaded the newest version. It loaded, but would not play – something about “line 6 already defined”. So, I uninstalled the whole game. I reinstalled it from the disc and the game now plays, but I still cannot save a game.

Please HELP!

Thanks. My system (evidently) did this all by itself last night - early this morning it had rebooted (no message why) - and today the game saves! Kept me playing ALL day! YAY!
