3.4 beta

Post by mamnich24 »

Dear Folk,
Just downloaded TOAW 3 ver. 3.2.29.27
If I'm correct there are no official patches past this.
Seems many have already patched to the 3.4 beta
1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of doing this?
Usually a beta is for those who are willing to run a risk, and maybe want to help with debugging and development.
2. When is the official new patch due?
Thanks,
Mike

1) New features are why people are using it. See 'What's New' tm.asp?m=2531935 What you say about beta is true.

2) No one really knows or if they do know are not talking under penalty of death or worse. [;)]

I would advise anyone to consider the current (3.4.0.201) beta to be the final version.

The hold up for making it the official release was to make a new Game Menu. Who uses the Game Menu, except for perhaps the very first time you run the game? Even that seems to have slipped through the cracks. If that ever is completed and released I'm pretty sure the code will still be version 201.
