Save Game sub-directories

Post by heliodorus04 »

Is it possible to get the game to create and/or use sub-directories when saving via the Admin window?

I like to try to keep different campaigns separated.

You can always create multiple instances of the game by installing in different sub-directories, one for each campaign. As long as you don't try to run more that one at a time there is no problem. You can keep them straight by creating a shortcut to each instance and naming the short-cut with your campaign. Since the game loads so quickly you should be able to switch from one to the other with no problem and that way you would have a clean save directory for each campagin. You just have to remember to upgrade each instance each time there is a new patch.

I just give the save games distinctive names, which works fine for me.

However, I would like the default sort order changed to be 'by date, descending' with the most recent save at the top. At the moment I have to click the sort button twice every time I launch the game and go looking for the save I just received...

Is it possible to include a "Load Last Saved Game" button on the Game Options screen?
I think that's going to be the most likely option for most people and would dispense with the need for the above, although I do agree that the most recent should be at the top
