Pay for supply button

Post by Dancing Bear »

This has come up before, but a "pay for supply" button would be really useful in this game. Too many times have I marched one area, and then been unable to besiege because my corps have foraged during the turn, when I really wanted to pay supply for them. Sieging in high forage areas becomes arkward without it.

To make space for it, I would get rid of the unassign leader button. Instead when you assign leader, you can choose any presently in the same area as the corps, including those assigned to other corps. It is redundant to unassign leader first.

Hi Marshall
Here's the problem. GB has a corps in Dover and wants to attack a Dutch corps in Lille, then besiege Lille. how can he do it? Move GB across the channel, and defeat the Dutch corps. GB will not be able to besiege, Why? because the game automatically foraged the GB corps before a combat. If there were not a combat, then GB would have the option not to use unused movement points, but because there is a combat, the GB players has no choice and the game automatically assumes GB does not want to pay for supply.

Where in the process can a player tell the GB corps to either pay for supply or forage without using unused movement? It can't because there was a field combat first, and supply comes before combat.

We need a way to tell a corps to either forage without using unused movement, or pay for supply, before combat. Otherwise it is impossible to besiege after a combat in a high forage area.

Likely this will need two buttons, a pay for supply button and a forage without using unused movement button

Gotchya!

I remember this now and in fact think it was/is on Mantis per Mardonius. Iguess I could add 2 phase buttons at thre bottom left to do this ... ??? Would that work? I will need some artwork for the buttons as well so this may take a bit.
Thank you

This would work well. Either put the new buttons next to the existing forage individual corps button, or pull all three buttons out to the area where the corps is displayed (similar to the standing orders). For graphics, you could use the existing "$" graphic for pay for supply, and modify the existing autoforage individual corps button with a "X" for forage without using unused movement.

In the roll over text, add "allows for sieging after movement", so new players will know why these buttons are here.
