Ghost Unit?

Playing the 16 Days Campaign as German, I have just destroyed the American unit 422/106ID in Bastogne. But when the game returns to the Campaign map, Bastogne is still split between my German unit.....and the American one, that I just destroyed!

Ignoring the situation, continuing the game till the next round, the American "Ghost Unit" not only still exitst - it actually moves around on the map! Clicking on the unit reveals, that it is empty; no soldiers, no vehicles, no guns!

Moving another German unit into the same area occupied by this Ghost Unit, brings up another combat. But when times comes to fight the battle, it cannot start.....because the Ghost Unit is empty! And my soldiers cannot fight alone, so the campaign stalls! I am not allowed to continue!

I have tried to restart the game, but upon entering Bastogne, I encounter not only the same unit - 422/106ID - but also the same problem!
