Download V2.2

Post by mmoaorrke »

Anyone: can I download the 2.2 version of PacWar? I have a couple of PBEM games going which I started in that version but my computer crashed. Saved the games but when I went to the Matrix site, only saw the new 3.0 or the 2.3 versions to download. Also, does it matter? Could I download the newer version and finish the older games? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I have got it, but its 7 MB and I'm not sure I can email a file that big. Any suggestions how to deliver it?

P.S. - Yes, it matters!

Maybe you could zip it to smaller packages and send them separately.

Hi,

Or you could just take out some of the windows stuff: autoruns, the data directory, the icons and the PDF files. This way it stays in a less-than-3MB directory. Then Zip it.

Un saludo

Well, it'll be easier if I can send it as one file, because it is an installer package, not a regular zip file. I realize I can install it and then zip the files up into several zip files, but since I have 3.0 installed I was a bit leary of doing that in case it doesn't prompt me for a location - that would be bad. :(

In any case, mmoaorrke, I will figure something out this afternoon and you will have it - in one or more files - this evening.

Thanks all. The idea to zip the V2.2 files worked. Got them from my game partner, downloaded the new winzip and back in action. Seems to be working fine. Took 2 zip files, half in one, half in the other. Thanks Bill.
