Question on attacks

Played my 1st game long game did well in the beginning till the Blizzard and the North front went to heck. On attacking I noticed the Russians where attacking from 2 and 3 differant hexs at the same time on my unit or units in a hex HOW DO YOU DO THAT. Hasty attacks and Deliberate Attacks how do you do a Deliberate Attack FOR THE LIFE OF ME I could not figure it out.. Regards...................

1. Select your "primary stack" (doesn't really matter which is "primary" but you have to start some place)
2. Deselect any units you don't want to join in from your "primary" stack
3. WITHOUT hitting the shift key mouseover your target hex until you get the hasty attack symbol (if you don't get it you are really low on MP)
4. Now depress the shift key; you should get the deliberate attack symbol and if you do not you have still got some units in your primary stack with insufficient MP. Go back to step 2 and deselect the unit with the least MP
5. Now mouseover any secondery stacks that you want to join in the attack while depressing the shift key. Units in the secondery stacks will appear in the right hand panel and any with insufficient MP will be automatically deselected.
6. Move the cursor to the target any you will get the deliberate attack symbot

NOTE: be very careful with the mouseover since it will happily grab non-artillery units from stacks that are not adjacent to the target if you get careless; if this occurs you will NOT get the deliberate attack symbol

7. Now right click to attack.
