An oddity

Post by G Felzien »

Check it out. PBEM game. I did not notice it at first. Based on its movement points I guess it started adjacent. Beta 5.

A red x ? Yes, that is odd...[:D]

Late edit...nevermind. Looks like my page didn't get fully loaded. I've got a crappy router here at work, and it's a real pita!

Did you check to see if there was a combat unit that was stacked with the HQ, which surrendered during the logistics phase? I think that the engine only checks on displacing units during movement.

No combat unit. All by its lonesome thus odd.

I think you misunderstood. Was there a combat unit there during the *last* player turn, which might have surrendered between turns, during the logistics phase? Check by selecting the Show Battles Sites button, F11, and look at whether a combat unit surrendered in the hex.

Yes, the combat unit surrendered leaving the HQ by its lonesome. Does this preclude the need for zero combat value units to displace?

I wouldn't say preclude, per se. It's more that the engine checks for displacement at specific points in time. This is when units are moving or in combat. It is apparently not checking during the logistics phase when the last non-routed, undepleted combat unit is removed from a hex that is also adjacent to an enemy unit.
