IL-4s being changed to day missions

The computer seems to like to switch my IL-4 units to daytime mission setting, even though i've set them manually to night missions. This isn't right, is it?

When did it happen?

It may be happening after I launch ground attacks by air units; near the end of my turn I deploy more air units to bases, and I see in the commander's report that the IL-4s have switched to daylight.  I am very sure that when I deploy IL-4's to the air bases I set them to night missions.
