Patch eta

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

I was just wondering if we could get an ETA for 1.04 - are we talking this week? Next week? Or longer?

It's been out for over a week. Where have you been?

Going to take a stab at answering this. It's coming along just fine, thanks for asking. In all seriousness I think the developers/testers are on track for a release in a week or two if all continues to go well. I've seen some posts where individual(s) have basically demanded some code patch ASAP. Are you kidding? I did get a good laugh at this. This isn't 'fast food' development, if you want it your way when you want it.. may I suggest going to Burger King? Can't go wrong with a Whopper. [:'(]

I'd say just let the team finish their work on v1.04. They will be the first to let you know when it's ready or close. I'm sure they're not trying to keep it a secret.

Are you perchance referring to when I posted this:

"I'll make this my last plea.

Can 2by3 please move forward the release of the Beta fixes for the OUTSTANDING BUGS addressed in the next patch, leaving the balance fixes until whenever they are ready?

I'd really like to continue my PBEM, but dont feel confident doing so until the bugs bedevelling me are sorted.

It sounds like some significant more time is needed for testing on the balance fixes - which is fine, understandable, and the way it should be.

But is there any reason why the bug fixes cant be released pronto?

Thank you, and out."

If so, does this constitute a demand?

And while I appreciate others doing their best to speak on their behalf, it would be nice for the team to at least give us an approx eta given that many are waiting for release before feeling confident in continuing play.

Well, I'm way too lazy to chase down all of the references, but IIRC they gave an ETA of mid-week of the week of the 4th, then revised that about the eigth with a comment about testing status and chasing bugs that popped up with the most recent changes and set a hopefull but soft ETA of the end of that week then posted again with latest status showing a probably release the end of the week of the 11th. Which isn't here yet

This week we're finishing up testing the latest changes. Assuming no major issues are found, we hope the public beta release will happen early next week. Of course, as always, things could change if problems are found. We'll post a list of changes as soon as we finalize testing the version and hand it over to Matrix for release. The latest count has about 120 items on the readme list (it's a major patch).
All understanding comes after the fact.
