Noobie on Random Scenarios

Post by Johnus »

When I run a random 2 player scenario (and don't check stone age) I never seem to get armor in the initial forces. Is this as it should be?

In a Random game without Stone Age checked, armored cars and light tanks should be production choices in the vehicle category.

Ive never gotten them as a part of my starting forces. Generally you just get the "Garrison" unit with 15 rifles, 1 mg, 5 smgs, 1 mortar or whatever it is. This was probably because with random games its possible to not have much oil, and they didnt want to start you with units that use it, incase you didnt want to go tanks, you wanted to go planes, or ships. Youd have free tanks sure, but might be using up all your oil just to move them about, ruining whatever other strategy you had. On tiny games could be critical.

You can always hit EDIT and give yourself a few tanks if you wish. Though tanks are overrated.

I should read more carefully. Your at start army in a random game only has infantry, engineers and some HQs. You have to build everything else.

I did also get some trains in my supreme HQ. No tanks or planes though.
History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.
