Matrix: Why JTCS but no PG

Post by GaryChildress »

Just out of curiosity why is it that Matrix has revived so many great wargaming titles like JTCS, or TOAoW but hasn't done the same for any of the Panzer General titles, including People's General which I also liked. I'd love to see a compilation of all the PG titles in one. [8D]

I'd imagine it comes down to license rights. In the case of PG, you're talking Ubisoft, who aren't anywhere near as approachable as some of the smaller wargaming companies...I mean, really, where do you even start?

Then you factor in costs of acquiring license rights, or perhaps they aren't even interested in such an old IP being re-released.

I'd love to see Acendancy. That would be a dream come true.

I must confess, I've pretty much given up on WWII games, but this looks very tempting. Beauty!

Panzer General and People General have extensive mod community here. The mod versions work fine on Win 7. They've even ported to other conflicts (Civil War, Napoleon Wars, WW1, etc).

I would buy all the updated games in the series faster than the speed of light. I can still hear the beautiful music from Pacific General.
