a/c production - a choice

Post by fre0n »

Hello there!

I have been digging since two weeks to get myself somewhat used to the game, after buying it. I enjoy the micromanagement and the potential to change japanese production settings, but the curve is log (-like) and I am still very low on the curve. Anyway to the point:

if I decided to change production (PDU enable) and cancel some planned aircraft that I think are not worth it to concentrate on other more able aircraft. Will group reinforcement schedule be affected in any way ? Like for example, there is a wing of KI-57-Topsy planned for somewhere in jan/42 : if I change production of the topsy to something else and the pool for engine-chassis assemblage is empty, will the group deliver anyway in jan/42?

Still reading this, a lot of insight on jap production in the IJ production mistakes thread... [;)]

If you are playing PDU off, squadron upgrades are very limited (that is, historical upgrades only). If you're playing PDU on, you don't have to worry about plane models. So you don't have to produce any Topsys, every IJA transport squadron can use any IJA transport planes.

Puhis thank you for the followup,

it pretty much answer my question, so I will try to set up a production tree in this light; in other word no time for amphibious invasions plans before I am done with this [8D]

The Total Build Out planes will arrive even if you are not building any. Sometimes that is better than others though. Some units arrive with a lot of planes, while others might arrive with 2 of 27 arriving. You will notice that as the war progresses, you will get units with obsolete aircraft late in the war.  When planning your production, make sure you look ahead and see what you will want to replace as soon as those obsolete units arrive. Some can wait and train pilots, others will be useful to get into battle with front line aircraft replacing the old models.
Sometimes things said in Nitwit sound very different in English.
